All my work is drawn out by hand then cut out with a scalpel, no computer involved! Most of my work is black and white but I have started adding layers of colour when the design calls for it

Something I haven't done for a long, long time. These current drawings are drawn on heavyweight Bockingford paper using Spectrum Aqua pens and fineliner pens.

They are small, 2.5 x 3.5 inches

During 2015 I started working with Bradford author Irene Lofthouse to illustrate the covers for her books. These are for children and are ghost stories from Yorkshire. The first two books are in publication, the first is of stories set around the Leyburn and Richmond areas and is called "Strange Tales In The Dales". The second is "Strange Tales in Bradford Dale". The artwork I did for both was created as black and white papercuts, we thought it would work better for spooky tales. We are also going to be working together on a picture book involving two characters developed by myself, Robot and Ghost Bunny.

Most of my work is black and white but I have started adding layers of colour when the design calls for it. I sell my original pieces through galleries, art shows and to private customers, though I have been brave and set up an etsy shop where you can purchase work.

I produce cards which are printed from my originals and make miniature artists books, which are printed too.

I started papercutting relatively recently after years of painting. It is an art form that straddles art and craft and has a long history. Now I have discovered this way of making art I can't imagine picking up a paint brush again!

Bunny lives on the beach. But Bunny doesn't like the beach. One day Bunny climbs the cliff to get to the juicy green grass at the top. But what happens when he gets there? Does it all end happily ever after? And why is there a whale on the cover of this book?

Bunny is the story of a big adventure for a small creature that is sure to captivate young and old alike.

A range of my designs have been taken up by a greetings card company called Natural Partners, and were introduced at the Spring Fair at the NEC 2016.

My work has moved on into full colour pieces over the last year. The landscape has become a more dominant feature as it lends itself so well to colour, the lines and shapes of hills and ploughed fields work so well with such a linear artform as papercutting. Animals are often the focal point in my landscapes as the eye being drawn to them by the use of line and colour.

Although I have spent all my life in the countryside it is only now that I have started using the natural world in my work, up to now I have looked in wonder at trees and birds and animals, now I fill my work with them, not that you will recognize any particular species! I don't do realism, I stylize and use my imagination but you will still see that a bird is a bird, a tree is a tree . . .
